TechAwards is one of CRTC’s annual signature events that honors the region's rising tech companies, outstanding innovators and regional tech leaders, with the awards ceremony drawing close to 400 technology executives in the Annapolis–Washington–Baltimore triangle.
This year’s theme, Vision 2032+/20 Years in Tech, and the event’s brand identity is based on the premise that when it comes to technology twenty years from now, it’s simply unimaginable – we can only speculate that it will be incredibly exciting, exceedingly forward-looking and innovative beyond what we can imagine today.

Local CEO's Talk About "Marketing Mix"
Ida Cheinman shares her view of the "right" marketing mix in Baltimore SmartCEO's CEO Forum.
"We use integrated marketing strategy that combines online, offline and one-on-one channels to create greater impact. Each online and offline tool has its own strengths, and therefore its own place, in our overall marketing mix. And, of course, it all starts with who we are trying to reach in each target market and where they congregate or what channels they respect most. So it's a combination of writing/speaking, networking/associations, e-marketing, PR, social media and some more traditional marketing techniques. It's definitely more heavily digital/online than it's been in the past – both for marketing Substance151 and our clients. A lot of the collateral has been replaced with interactive PDFs and web-based applications, with select high-end pieces going to print. With the present need to maximize every marketing dollar spent, combining lower-cost/quick-returns tactics with a few select high-end/high-impact strategies and techniques helps to stretch marketing budgets and generate better results."
Substance151 to Play Major Role in Chesapeake Regional Tech Council’s Seventh Annual TechAwards
Ida Cheinman, Substance151 principal and creative director, will chair the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council’s (CRTC) seventh annual TechAwards.
“I am extremely excited to chair the TechAwards and make the theme 'Vision 2032: 20 Years in Tech' come to life,” said Cheinman. “In addition to chairing the event, I am pleased to announce that Substance151 will take on developing the event's creative and marketing materials.”
CRTC's TechAwards honors the region's rising tech companies, outstanding innovators and regional tech leaders. Started in 2006, the annual awards ceremony draws more than 350 technology executives in the Annapolis–Washington–Baltimore triangle.
